Time for Grilling Season with Hebrew National

It is officially grilling season!!!

The weather has finally started to warm up, so I have started entertaining for family and friends ‘al fresco’, which means it’s time to fire up the BBQ. Grilling adds such a great char flavor to food that you just can’t get from a stovetop. Also, there is just something so wonderful about grilling out on the patio and dining in the fresh air as the sun sets.

Now that it is springtime and we have finished our ‘spring cleaning,’ our patio is up and running for entertaining. Since I love creating décor themes, I wanted to come up with a ‘warm-weather’ theme for this get-together. I chose pineapples for the centerpieces, which really made the tablescape bright and fresh-looking. Here are a couple lovely DIY Pineapple Vases (tutorial here) I did that are filled with fresh flowers and an earthy succulent. For even more bright color, I painted the tops of a few pineapples with colors that make me happy…pink, sea-glass blue, and gold (tutorial here). To bring the table setting together I placed the Pineapple Vases onto candlesticks to give added height, and set everything on top of a rustic burlap table runner that I covered in faux palm leaves. Now I just neded to serve some bright and fresh food to match my bright and fresh tablescape.

Since I am super picky about the quality of my food (as you know), I want to make sure I am serving my family the best I can find. Hot dogs are the first things that come to mind when it is grilling season. There is something so nostalgic about having a good quality hot dog right from the grill on a beautiful day. I love grilling up Hebrew National® All-Beef Franks because I know I can trust their quality. Since they are kosher, they have a very strict process that goes into making their hot dogs, which makes me feel better about serving them to my family. I love to top the Hebrew National® All-Beef Franks with my homemade crunchy coleslaw, which is made dairy-free. My coleslaw is made with red and green cabbage, carrots, and flavored with apple cider vinegar, olive oil, and a touch of honey. Even though there are only a few ingredients, this mixture creates a perfect balance of acidity, sweetness, and crunch that pairs perfectly with the hot dog. It is also nice to have a hot dog topping that is fresh and light, instead of one weighed down by heavy mayo (recipe below).

As sides to the hot dogs, I served up fresh watermelon, grilled asparagus, grilled corn (recipe here), and my Pineapple Mint Margaritas. Made with or without alcohol, they are a perfect way to round out a BBQ (recipe here)!

What makes a Hebrew National kosher hot dog premium? It’s all about what makes the cut (And what doesn’t). We’re choosy about what goes into our franks – we use only premium cuts of 100% kosher beef from the front half of the cow and then choose the best from that. No artificial flavors, colors, fillers or by-products. When your hot dog is kosher, that’s a hot dog you can trust! For more summer fun with Hebrew National, visit facebook.com/hebrewnational.
