Melt the butter and oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add the shallots and a sprinkle of salt, cook until softened.
Add in the garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds, being careful not to brown the garlic.
Add in the wine and let it cook for a couple minutes and then add in the tomatoes.
Cook over medium heat for about 10 minutes to allow the flavors to marry. Add additional salt and pepper to taste.
Cook the green beans in a large pot of boiling salted water for just about 30 seconds to a minute then drain the green beans and place them in the tomato sauce and allow them to finish cooking in the sauce.
Add in the fresh herbs and any additional salt and pepper that’s needed.
Serve hot!
