DIY Apple Craft Using Red Paper Plates and Foam Sheets

Looking for a fun and easy craft project that’s perfect for celebrating back-to-school season? Turn ordinary red paper plates into adorable apples with just a few simple materials! This DIY craft is not only easy to do, but it’s also a fantastic way to engage in creative play, perfect for classrooms, playdates, or a cozy afternoon at home.

Materials You’ll Need:

  • Red paper plates
  • Green and brown foam sheets
  • Scissors
  • Glue (school glue or a hot glue gun)
  • Pencil (for tracing)
  • Optional: Markers or paint for extra details

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Prepare Your Plate: Start with a red paper plate. The color instantly gives you the perfect base for your apple.
  2. Create the Stem and Leaves: Take your brown foam sheet and cut out a small rectangular piece to serve as the apple’s stem. Then, using the green foam sheet, cut out two leaf shapes. If you’re working with younger kids, you might want to draw the shapes first with a pencil and let them cut along the lines.
  3. Assembly: Glue the brown stem piece to the top center of the red plate on the back. Next, attach the green leaves to either side of the stem. Press down firmly to ensure everything sticks well. If you’re using school glue, give it some time to dry. Hot glue is my recommendation.
  4. Finishing Touches: Once the glue has dried, your apple is complete! It’s an adorable way to decorate the table for the first day back to school.

This simple yet delightful craft is a great way to encourage creativity while making something that everyone will love!
