DIY Handprint Keychains
DIY Handprint Keychain
What do you get for the men in your life who are impossible to buy for? My husband, father-in-law and dad are all so difficult to shop for, so Father’s Day tends to make me go crazy trying to find them something. What I have figured out, since having a child, is that something sweet, creative and sentimental is always a good idea. I have done gifts with pictures a number of times, but this year I wanted to do something a bit different. DIY Handprint Keychains are such a fun and meaningful gift that the guys can actually look at each day of the year. It is a perfect way to hold a little bit of the child with them wherever they go.
For these DIY Handprint Keychains, I used Shrinky Dinks paper! This stuff is really cool! My son and I had a fun crafting day by painting his hands, and making handprints onto the paper. He went crazy watching the paper shrink in the oven, and was so excited when he saw how much they shrink!! Because we made our DIY Handprint Keychains a little early, my son couldn’t wait to show my husband, so he gave him his Father’s Day gift a little early. My son was beyond happy to give his homemade DIY Handprint Keychain to his dad, and it completely melted my heart.
