A simple and easy way to make these trendy attention-grabbing candles. I am seeing there all over and even though they look easy, they are a bit technical.
(video coming soon)
MATERIALS:
- Tall solid tapered or dinner candles, preferably paraffin wax
- Hot water in container big enough for candles
- Rolling pin
Optional:
- Cold water bath
- Potato peeler
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Soak the candles for 10-15 minutes in the hot water bath until malleable.
To Create The Spiral Twisted Candle:
- Remove the candle from the hot water.
- Use a rolling pin to slightly flatten the candles wherever you want to create the twist.
- Grab the candle on either side of where you’ve flattened and twist.
- To get the candle to hold shape you can pop it into a cold-water bath, the fridge or just hold it for a few moments until hard.
- Repeat to create as many as desired, enjoy!
To Create The Curved Twisted Candle:
- Remove the candle from the hot water.
- Gently bend the candle into curved shapes as desired.
- If you want the candle to sit flat without a holder on a curve, use a potato peeler to shave the bottom flat enough to keep it steady.
- Repeat to create as many as desired, enjoy!
