Easy Taco Seasoning
With Cinco de Mayo coming up this weekend it’s the perfect time to share this super easy taco seasoning. It’s always something I have made and ready to go in my kitchen. It’s easy enough to have kids… or husbands… put it together to feel like they are a part of the cooking process. I like to have it on hand because it makes weeknight cooking really easy. I use it with ground beef or ground turkey and found it is perfect with shrimp as well. Then use the meat/shrimp in a tortilla with toppings for a taco night, with some cheese in a quesadilla, or over a salad for a taco salad.
Easy Taco Seasoning
Ingredients:
1 tablespoon chili powder
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper (you can add more or less of this depending on how much heat you like)
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin
1 teaspoon sea salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
*Combine all ingredients in a container with fitted lid
*Stir together or place on the lid and shake well to combine
Ground Beef or Turkey
*Brown ground beef or turkey in a skillet until cooked through
*Sprinkle on seasoning to taste (use as much or as little as you like)
*Add a splash of filtered water to the skillet to loosen up the spices and help spread them evenly
*Adjust seasoning….. adding more if you needed
Shrimp
*Clean shrimp and sprinkle seasoning on one side
*Place in slightly oiled and heated skillet seasoned side down
*Season the other side before turning over to cook
*Either place on a salad or in a tortilla with toppings for a shrimp taco
