Mummy Chocolate Peanut Butter Bon Bons
How cute are these little mummies!?! When it comes to Halloween, candy isn’t just for the kids. These little Chocolate Peanut Butter Bon Bons are basically a gourmet Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup only it has a nice crunch to it. They look fancy but they are actually really easy to make and are ALWAYS a hit!!!
You can actually make these ahead of time and then dip them when you are ready. When it comes to the white chocolate drizzle you can either use a spoon to drizzle it over or a piping bag. I like using a piping bag for a more purposeful drizzle so that you can make sure it keeps that “mummy” look!
Mummy Peanut Butter Bon Bons
Ingredients
- 1 pound powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter; room temperature
- 2 cups peanut butter
- 3 cups Rice Krispies
- 1/2-1 pound candy coating chocolate; I like milk chocolate or dark chocolate
- white candy coating chocolate
- candy eyes
Instructions
- Mix the butter and peanut butter together in a stand mixer or hand mixer until well combined
- Stir in powdered sugar
- Stir in Krispies
- Mix until well combined and the mixture will hold together when you squeeze it with your fingers
- Scoop out and roll into about 1 inch balls
- Refrigerate for at least 2 hours
- Once chilled melt the chocolate by placing it in a bowl over a pot of simmering water (aks, a double boiler) being careful the water isn’t touching the bowl
- Use a fork to dip the cold bon bons into the melted chocolate
- Tap the fork on the side of the bowl to remove excess chocolate
- Place on a sheet of wax paper to set up
- To add the drizzle on top to create the mummy you can place the melted chocolate in a plastic bag and cut off the tip, then with a back and forth motion drizzle the chocolate over the bon bons
- When doing this you want to make sure that the bon bons have completely set up otherwise it will look melted!
- Add on the little candy eyes while the white chocolate is wet
- Allow the chocolate to harden at room temperature
