Weekly Favorites
Summer is in full swing! We have finally gotten past the “gray May” and “June gloom” in Southern California, which have been trickling into July. I don’t know about anyone else, but this is the time of year when I start getting excited for fall with all of the fun fall clothes that are coming out in stores. I was at Michael’s Arts and Crafts the other day, and they already had Halloween stuff out!
Since we are still (technically) in summer, this week’s favorites are some of the things I have been loving this summer.
The Honest Company Multi-Surface Cleaner; There has been so much hype with The Honest Company products. I love the company and what it stands for, and most of the time I like their products as well, but I LOVE this cleaner. The “white grapefruit” scent is my favorite. The smell is mild, and the product doesn’t feel harsh at all. It cleans nicely while leaving the counters feeling fresh. I know it sounds funny, but I’m completely obsessed. My son turns our kitchen table into an art project with food during mealtime, and this has been the first (and only) product that I feel actually cleans the table well!
Romper from Target; I have been wearing this romper ALL of the time! It’s so comfortable! I use it as a cover-up when going down to the beach, I wear it with flip flops for a casual look, and I wear it with a blazer and heels to dress it up. I wasn’t a huge fan of rompers originally because I felt like they didn’t look good on my petite frame, but this one in particular works!
Havaianas Flip Flops; I broke my flip flops walking in the airport when I was traveling back to Michigan in June…fun! When I got home my mom ordered these flip flops for me (both in tan and black), and now they have become my new favorite casual shoe. They are super comfortable.
J.Crew Chambray Shirt; If you were to ask me 3 years ago to wear a “jean” shirt, I would have laughed in your face, but I LOVE this shirt from J Crew, and I LOVE the crazy jean trend that is going on right now. To say I wear it all of the time isn’t even doing justice for how often I wear this shirt. It is so comfortable, it can be dressed up or down, and it comes in petite sizes.
Martha Stewart Craft Paint; I paint too much. If you want to start getting into crafting, or at least have a project in mind, I recommend getting a paint kit like this. Once you get it, the doors to crafting open up! Anything from vases, to bags, to napkins, you will start looking at everything in your house and think of ways you can paint it.
Kerastase Discipline Keratine Thermique; Hair products are an obsession for me. I am very picky when it comes to products, and Kerastase doesn’t disappoint. This is one of their new products for frizz. It is a thermal protectant as well as anti-frizz control. You use it in your hair when it’s damp after a shower, and then blow-dry it in. Even if you don’t plan on blow-drying, it can be used on wet hair, then air-dried.
Essie Ballet Slippers Nail Polish; I have been wanting to paint my nails all of the fun, bright, cheery colors of summer, but I always find myself going back to a soft and simple color. Ballet Slippers from Essie is one of my favorite “everyday” polishes. It is simple, feminine, and fresh.
